Each year Pear Orchard hosts Vacation Bible School. During VBS, the children join the Scottish Sleuths, Super Bible Sleuth Angus McTavish and Professor Dabney Thornwell, on a “Bible case.” These two detectives symbolically portray the fact that we want our children to become investigators of God’s Word. Together with their team of Junior Sleuths, ages 4 through completed 5th grade, they will dig deep into God’s Word. Not all of their time will be spent investigating clues and learning biblical solutions to the mystery, although that will be a very important part of the day. Our young junior detectives will also enjoy crafts, recreation, music, snack time, and Bible memory.
Each day will begin with classes lining up in front of the Multi-Purpose Building at 8:45. Parents will pick up their children at 12:00. Parents are welcomed and invited to attend the Closing Program on Friday at 11:30 a.m. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, contact Kristi Clark by email.
This VBS series has been designed to present the gospel of Jesus Christ to children through a week-long, intensive study of God’s Word. For more information about the Scottish Sleuths Vacation Bible School curriculum, click here.
