POPC Weekly Update: 4/3/20

Below you'll find ten important announcements of some of the things going on in the life of Pear Orchard right now. Make sure to scroll all the way down to the list of birthdays! Though we can't see one another in person, we can still text or call and wish our brothers and sisters a happy birthday to make their special day all the more special.

There aren't enough adjectives to describe what we have experienced the past two-three weeks. Unprecedented, unparalleled, staggering, incredible, amazing, wild, crazy, scary - the list could go on and on. We rest in the truth that our sovereign God is on His throne, ruling and sustaining and providing for us according to His holy, wise, and powerful will. My heart was encouraged this morning by Psalm 56. David wrote this Psalm when he was seized by the Philistines in Gath (I Samuel 21), and it's a psalm of confidence in the midst of fear. We live in fearful times as well - yet find strength and boldness in what God's word says: "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid . . . You have taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book? . . . This I know, that God is for me" (Psalm 56:3-4, 8, 9).

In the midst of this pandemic and sheltering-in-place, our ministry staff know that counseling needs will arise. Though we are not meeting with people face to face currently, we would love to still counsel you by phone or video call. Please don't hesitate to text or email us so we can set up a time to meet with you. May the Lord comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word during this pandemic-- Pastor Caleb

1. In-Person Worship and On-Campus Ministries Remain Cancelled
